4G Capital Ranked Among Africa’s Fastest-Growing Companies in FT 2026 List

Kenyan-based fintech 4G Capital has earned a spot on the prestigious Financial Times (FT) Africa’s Fastest Growing Companies list for 2026. The ranking, compiled alongside data research firm Statista, places the micro-enterprise lender at 77th overall across the continent.

In a highly competitive regional market, 4G Capital emerged as a standout player in East Africa's financial landscape. Out of the nine Kenyan firms that made the cut across all industries, 4G Capital ranked sixth. Meanwhile, within the specialized Fintech, Financial Services & Insurance track, it secured the third spot out of six local powerhouses—sharing the stage with prominent names like M-KOPA, Turaco, KCB Group, MIC Global Risks, and Co-operative Bank.

On a global scale, the lender's growth trajectory placed it 27th overall in the fintech and financial services category.

Driving Financial Inclusion Across East Africa

Since opening its doors in 2013, 4G Capital has focused heavily on the often-ignored micro and small enterprise (MSE) sector. To date, the company has pumped over $990.7 million in credit into the hands of more than 777,800 small business owners across Kenya and Uganda.

Much of this momentum comes down to their unique "touch-tech" operating model. Unlike completely automated digital lenders, 4G Capital pairs its proprietary tech infrastructure with human connection, utilizing on-the-ground field officers to build relationships with borrowers. To ensure these small businesses actually thrive, the company bundles its credit lines with practical business coaching and financial literacy training.

Looking Ahead: Series D on the Horizon

The Financial Times recognition comes at a pivotal moment for the fintech. Looking to capitalize on its current momentum, 4G Capital is reportedly eyeing a Series D funding round. The upcoming capital injection is expected to bankroll its next phase of digital expansion, allowing the company to scale its operations and reach even more underserved entrepreneurs across East Africa.
