Apple Briefly Pulls Telegram From App Store Over CSAM Violation

Apple temporarily pulled Telegram from the iOS App Store globally after discovering child sexual abuse material on the service. The removal lasted only a brief window, with Apple restoring access once Telegram scrubbed the flagged content and banned the user behind it.

In a statement, Apple confirmed the enforcement action:

> "We briefly removed Telegram from the App Store after our review found content that violates our strict guidelines prohibiting child sexual abuse material. The app was subsequently restored after the developer promptly removed the content and banned the user who posted it."

Controlling illegal material remains a constant friction point for Telegram. Managing massive public channels and automated bots makes content moderation notoriously tough compared to traditional chat apps.

This isn't the first time the platform ran into this exact wall. Back in 2018, Apple pulled both Telegram and Telegram X over child exploitation material before restoring them hours later once filtering systems were updated.
