Busha Launches Signal, Bringing Prediction Markets to a New Generation of African Users

Signal lets you put money on your convictions. That's a bigger deal than it sounds.

Busha has launched Signal, a prediction market platform where users trade on the outcomes of real-world events. Politics, sports, finance, tech, entertainment — if it has an outcome, you can take a position on it.

This matters because prediction markets have quietly become one of the most talked-about products in global finance. Billions of dollars have moved through platforms like Polymarket during elections and economic events over the past two years. Africa has largely watched from the sidelines. Signal is Busha's bet that the timing is right to change that.

What Signal Actually Does

Prediction markets work differently from sports betting or investing, though they borrow elements from both. Users buy and sell contracts tied to specific outcomes. Prices shift in real time as new information comes in, which means the market itself becomes a live forecast. When thousands of people with money on the line weigh in, the resulting prices tend to be surprisingly accurate.

Blockchain handles settlement, keeps the process transparent, and allows the platform to operate continuously without a central authority deciding who wins. That infrastructure is what makes a product like Signal possible at this scale.

Busha has been building toward this for a while. Stablecoin payments, business solutions, savings products, crypto payment services — Signal adds a category that none of those products touched. It's a genuine expansion of what the company offers, and what African users can access from a single platform.

The Harder Question

Liquidity will determine whether Signal succeeds or stalls. Prediction markets need enough participants on both sides of every market to function well. Getting there takes time, and early users often face thin markets with wide spreads that make trading feel less efficient than it should.

User education is the other variable. Prediction markets sit in an unfamiliar space for most people — somewhere between investing and gaming, but legally and conceptually distinct from both. Busha will have to do real work explaining how Signal differs from a betting app, and why that distinction matters, especially as regulators in various African jurisdictions figure out how to classify these products.

None of those challenges are unique to Busha. Every prediction market platform has faced them. The difference is that Busha is bringing this product to markets where digital asset literacy is still developing, which raises the stakes on getting the onboarding experience right.

Early Access Is Open

Signal is currently in waitlist mode ahead of its public launch. Busha is accepting early registrations now.
