Kenya National Innovation Agency Invites Faculty to Commercialise Research Innovations by 10 April 2026

For many faculty members at Kenyan universities and TVETs, groundbreaking research stays confined to academic journals; this call provides intellectual value but fails to solve the immediate, pressing needs of the public. The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) wants to change that narrative. They are currently inviting researchers to step out of the lab and into the marketplace.

This initiative targets faculty who possess validated, research-based innovations. It is a call to action for those who have spent years perfecting a solution and finally want to see it function in the real world. KeNIA is providing a structured bridge for these academic projects to transition into commercial ventures that can scale.

Selected innovators gain access to a network of industry experts and mentors who understand the mechanics of the Kenyan economy. Academic brilliance is rarely synonymous with business acumen. This program fills that specific void by teaching practical commercialization skills. You will learn how to protect your intellectual property, identify a target market, and pitch to stakeholders who can help the project grow.

By positioning these innovations for scale, KeNIA ensures local solutions solve local problems, creating an ecosystem driven by home-grown expertise.

If you are a researcher ready to see your work change lives beyond the campus gates, the window is closing soon. You have until April 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM (EAT) to submit your application.

The Essentials Deadline: April 10, 2026 (11:59 PM EAT)
