Meta Partners with This Is Digital to Launch AI Academy Kenya

Meta has partnered with African AI accelerator This Is Digital to launch AI Academy Kenya, a new programme focused on practical AI training for Kenyan students, developers, startups, small business owners and professionals.

Launched on September 11, the programme has two parts: an AI Pitchathon for builders developing with Meta's AI technologies and an eight-week Masterclass covering practical applications of AI in work and business.

The Pitchathon will give Kenyan startups and developers a chance to present their products in Nairobi, with selected participants competing for equity-free funding and an opportunity to pitch at Meta's AI Summit in Istanbul, Türkiye, in November. It is scheduled for October 15, with applications closing on September 30. Applications are open here.

The eight-week Masterclass takes a broader approach, covering AI fundamentals, prompt engineering, AI for research and knowledge work, documents, reporting, communication and productivity. It begins on November 3, with applications closing on October 31. Applications are open here.
