Base East Africa will be having an OpenClaw workshop happening tomorrow, Saturday 7th February

The session, organized by Base, a Coinbase‑incubated Ethereum layer‑2 solution, will be led by Nelly Cyberpro, founder of Wi‑Fi Proof, alongside several Base ambassadors from East Africa. Participants can expect a mix of technical instruction, live demos and networking opportunities, all designed to accelerate the adoption of “agentic” AI in the blockchain ecosystem.

The agenda lists four core takeaways:

  1. Deploying autonomous agents on Base
  2. Reviewing real‑world OpenClaw implementations
  3. Building a first agent in a hands‑on lab, and
  4. Connecting with fellow builders and founders.

The workshop targets a broad audience, from developers eager to explore Base’s low‑cost, permissionless environment to traders interested in automating strategies, as well as anyone curious about the intersection of AI and on‑chain applications.

Base, launched by Coinbase in 2023, positions itself as a developer‑friendly, secure L2 that leverages Ethereum’s security while offering cheaper gas fees and faster finality. Its open, permissionless ethos aligns with the growing push to embed more sophisticated logic, such as autonomous agents, directly onto blockchain layers.

OpenClaw, an emerging framework for constructing AI‑driven agents that can interact with smart contracts, has attracted attention for its potential to streamline decentralized finance (DeFi) operations and automated market‑making events.

Industry observers note that the workshop arrives at a moment when on‑chain automation is gaining traction. The next frontier appears to be agents that can make decisions based on external data, user behavior or market conditions without human intervention. By teaching developers how to build these agents on Base, the event could lower the barrier to entry for a new class of decentralized applications that blend AI inference with blockchain immutability.

Beyond the technical deep‑dive, the organizers have set aside time for informal networking. Attendees will have the chance to share ideas, showcase early prototypes and explore collaborations that could shape the future of on‑chain AI. As a reminder, registrants consent to the use of their name, email and wallet address by Coinbase for event support and follow‑up communications.

The workshop runs from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Qubit Hub, and registration is open to anyone interested in the convergence of AI and blockchain.
